TANGAIL, Mar 29, 2024 (BSS) - At least two persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Kalihati and Shakhipur areas in the early hours of today (Friday).

"A covered van driver succumbed to his injuries and two others were injured as a lorry and the covered van collided head on at Kalihati upazila around 2.30am on Friday," said Sub-Inspector (SI) Mosharraf Hossain of Bangabandhu Bridge (East) Police Station.

The injured were rushed to Tangail General Hospital and the covered van driver, identified as Abdur Rahim, died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

In another accident in Shakhipur, a young biker was killed on the spot when his motorbike hit a truck near Taktachala Bazar as the biker was returning from Dhaka.

The deceased was identified as Swajibul Hasan Sujan, 28.
