MADARIPUR, April 27, 2024 (BSS) - A man was killed and 10 others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a pickup van on the Dhaka-Barishal highway in Tantibari area under Sadar upazila here today.
 
The deceased was identified as pickup van driver Sabuj Sardar, 60, son of late Hamdu Sardar, a resident of Paonibhanga area under Hizla upazila in Barishal district.
 
The accident occurred in the area when a Dhaka-bound pickup van collided head-on with a Barishal-bound passenger bus of 'Hanif Paribahan' around 1pm, leaving the pickup van driver dead on the spot and 10 passengers of the bus including its driver injured, Madaripur Fire Service Inspector Asadul Islam said.
 
The injured were taken to Madaripur Zila Sadar Hospital, he said.
 
Sub-inspector (SI) Bijay Prasad Roy of Mustafapur Highway Police Station in Madaripur confirmed the matter.
