KHAGRACHHARI, May 7, 2024 (BSS) - Voting in four upazila parishads of the district will take place tomorrow in the first phase of sixth upazila parishad election.

The upazilas are Ramgarh, Matiranga, Manikchari and Luxmichari.

Returning Officer and district Election Officer Mohammad Kamrul Alam said all necessary preparations have been taken for holding a peaceful and fair election.

He said polling will be held at 90 centers in the four upazilas of the district. A total of five policemen and 12 Ansars will be deployed at each center, he added.

Mohammad Kamrul Alam also said eight platoons of BGB will be deployed in Luxmichari and Manikchari upazila while six platoons will be enforced in Ramgarh and Matiranga upazila each.

Voting equipment was distributed this morning. Helicopters carried the equipment and officials in the remote area of the four upazilas in the hilly district.

A total of 13 candidates are contesting for the post of Upazila chairman in the four upazilas.
