NATORE, May 9, 2024 (BSS) - A week-long National Nutrition Week-2024 began in the district today.

Civil Surgeon of the district Dr. Muhammad Moshiur Rahman inaugurated the National Nutrition Week-2024 at the Civil Surgeon office this morning.

Presided over by the Civil Surgeon, the inaugural function was addressed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Samiul Amin, District Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation Natore District Office Muhammad Imamul Islam, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Mahbubur Rahman and Natore Press Club President Faraji Ahmad Rafiq Baban, among others.

The speakers said that the government is working to ensure nutritious food for all people of the country, including children, to build a talented nation.

Health and family welfare centers are providing zinc tablets free of cost to pregnant mothers, vitamin A capsules and anthelmintic tablets to children, they said.

All must work together to create public awareness to ensure nutritious food, they added.
