SIRAJGANJ, May 9, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced two persons to life term imprisonment in a drug case of 2022 under Ullapara upazila of the district.

Judge of Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-2 Md. Abul Bashar Mia pronounced the verdict this afternoon.

The court also fined them Taka 20,000 each, in default, they will have to suffer six months more in jail.

The convicts are - Ramzan Ali, 27, son of Jamal Hussain of Bujruk Srimantapur area of Godagari Puoro area of Rajshahi District and Bani Israel, 32, son of Yunus Ali of the same  area.

According to the details of the case, on May 21, 2022, members of RAB-12 set up an anti-narcotics check-post in Solanga Police Station area and searched various vehicles and RAB recovered 100 grams of heroin from their bodies.

RAB filed a case at Solanga Police Station in this connection.

After examining witnesses, the court found them guilty and handed down the punishment today.
