DINAJPUR, May 21, 2024 (BSS)- A motorcyclist was killed and another injured after being hit by a truck on the Dinajpur-Rangpur highway in Ramdubi Bazar area under Dinajpur Sadar upazila today.

The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain, 32, resident of Gwaldighi village of Khansama upazila of the district.

The accident occurred in the area when he was going to Dinajpur town riding a motorcycle from his home, on the way, a truck hit the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction around 1:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot and another was injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dinajpur Highway Dosh Mile Police Station Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman said.

The injured was taken to M Abdur Rahim Medical College and Hospital, he said.

Police recovered the body from the spot and sent to M Abdur Rahim Medical College and Hospital morgue for post-mortem.

Police seized the truck but its driver and help fled from the scene.

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
