PANCHAGARH June 5, 2024 (BSS) - About 80 percent Boro harvesting has already
been completed in all the five upazilas of the district.
This year, Boro paddy was cultivated on 30,125 hectares of land with a
production target of 1,33,750 tonnes of rice, Department of Agriculture
Extension (DAE), Panchagarh said.
Farmers in the district are happy to see a bumper production and fair price
of Boro paddy.
Farmer Sarikul Islam of Sabouspara village in Debiganj upazila told BSS that
he got 30 mounds of paddy from per Bigha of land. He got huge benefit this
year as sold per mound of paddy at Taka 1,100 in the local market.
DAE office sources said production has been exceed the target this year as
the government provided the Boro paddy growers with free agricultural inputs,
including seeds and fertilizer to increase the production of Boro in the
country.
