NATORE, July 4, 2024 (BSS) - A woman and her minor girl were killed in a collision between a microbus and an auto-rickshaw on the Lalpur-Bagha regional road in Rahimpur Jamtala area under ??Lalpur upazila of the district this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Rubina Khatun, 28, wife of Mahbub Alam of Udhanpara village in Lalpur upazila, and her daughter Rokeya Khatun, 3.

The accident occurred in the area when they were returning to Lalpur by auto-rickshaw from Bagha upazila in Rajshahi after the treatment of Rokeya Khatun. On the way, the head-on collision took place with a microbus coming from the opposite direction around 1:30pm, leaving them dead on the spot, officer-in-charge (OC) of Lalpur Police Station Nashim Ahmed said.

Police seized the microbus from the spot, the OC said.

Legal action is under process in this connection, he added.
