RANGAMATI, July 4, 2024 (BSS) - Two students died drowning in floodwater at Bagaichari upazila here.

The deceased were identified as Soha Chakma, 12 and Krititta Chakma, 13.

"Of the deceased, class-VI student Soha Chakma drowned at around 5pm on Wednesday while she was playing near her residence" said Chairman of Rupakari Union Parishad Jesmin Chakma, adding, her body was recovered later.

Besides, Krititta Chakma, a class-VII student, fell into floodwater on Tuesday and he remained missing since then.

Later, his body was also recovered on Wednesday afternoon, Jesmin said.

On information, Bagaichari Municipality Mayor Zamir Hossen along with local Awami League leaders rushed to the victims' houses and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
