NOAKHALI, July 05, 2024 (BSS) – Police in a drive held seven dacoits with an LG and a pipe gun from Begumganj upazila of the district last night (Thursday).

The arrested were identified as Md Kamal, 43, Md Shamim, 22, Md Raihan, 28, Md Miraz, 22, Md Sharif, 27, Md Helaluddin, 21, and Md Salauddin, 26. They are the residents of Noakhali, Lakshmipur and Bhola districts.

Police said, on information, they conducted a raid in Lalpur area last night and held the dacoits with LG, pipe gun, ornaments and sharp weapons.

Officer-in-Charge of Begumganj Thana Md Anowarul Islam said robbery and arms cases have been filed against them. The dacoits will be produced before a court this afternoon, he added.
