10-day Shahadat-E-Karbala Mahfil in Ctg begins from July 8

CHATTOGRAM, July 6, 2024 (BSS)- The 39th edition of the International

Shahadat-e-Karbala Mahfil will begin at the Jamiatul Falah National Mosque in
Chattogram from July 8.

According to the management committee, all necessary preparations have been
completed for holding the 10-day long Mahfil in remembrance of Ahl al-Bayt
Rasool. The Mahfil will continue till July 17 at Dampara Jamiatul Falah
Mosque Plaza in the port city.

Mahfil will start after Asr prayer and conclude at 10 pm every day.

Islamic scholars from home and abroad will come up with their deliberations
on the dedication and supreme sacrifice for Islam by the Karbala martyrs.

Shahadat-e-Karbala Mahfil Management Committee Chairman Sufi Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, also chairman of the PHP Family, disclosed the information at a press conference held at PHP VIP Lounge of Chattogram Press Club on Saturday.

In the press conference, the council chairman and prominent industrialist
Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman said that love for people, not revenge, is the
characteristic of the Prophet's family. They have left that example of love
by sacrificing life in the Karbala battle.

"A pure heart should be discovered with knowledge. To fear Allah, that is the
name of Taqwa," he added.

Highlighting the significance of the month of Muharram, Sufi Mizanur Rahman
explained that it marks the beginning of the Hijri New Year and holds great
historical and global importance.

He recounted the tragic events that took place in Karbala, where the innocent
members of Ahle Bait, including Imam Hussain (Ra), were mercilessly martyred
by the forces of Yazid, a sworn enemy of the Prophet's family, on Muharram 10
of 61 Hijri

Anjuman Trust Secretary General Anwar Hossain, PHP Family Director (Finance)
and Chief Coordinator of Mahfil Committee Ali Hossain Sohag, Jamiatul Falah
Mosque Khatib Maulana Abu Taleb M Alauddin, Gausia Committee Bangladesh
Chairman Pear Mohammad, and Joint Secretary Prof Kamal Uddin Ahmed among
others, were present at the press conference.
