People to see eye catching development in next five years -Narayan

KHULNA, July 6, 2024 (BSS)-Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda has said that the people of the country will see eye-catching development in next five years.

The minister made the remark while speaking as chief guest at the inauguration programme of Gabtola Sharbajonin Durga Mandir at Shovna Union of Dumuria Upazila here yesterday evening.

From now on, we should forget all the envy and hatred of each other and will have to work unitedly for the wellbeing of the people, he said adding that we have already seen a great change in all respects including digitalization, transportation through Padma Bridge and communication through metro rail.

The minister said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is monitoring all the ongoing projects undertaken to ensure all the city facilities in the rural areas.

Besides, development in education, agriculture, health, and sports, human resource development, creating employment opportunities, hunger and poverty-free country, development of roads and highways, electricity and infrastructure developments are now visible without any doubt, he said.

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman sacrificed his life for the welfare of the poor people and the country as well, he said adding that his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is still working tirelessly to make Bangabandhu's dream as true.

Chairman of Shovna Union Parishad Suronjit Kumar Baidya presided over the event. Among others, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Muhammad Al-Amin, Chairman of Dumuria Upazila Parishad Ezaz Ahmed, Vice Chairman Gobinda Ghosh and Women Vice Chairman Sharmin Parveen Ruma addressed the programme as special guests.

Chairman of various Union Parishads, leaders of Awami League and its associate bodies and local dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

Later, the minister distributed 2,780 KGs of rice among 278 cyclone 'Remal' affected poor and helpless families living in Ashryan project.
