NOAKHALI, July 7, 2024 (BSS) - An elderly man was killed by the miscreants at Subarnachar upazila of the district last night.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Khaleque alias Khaza Mia, 67, a resident of Char Rashid area under Char Jabbar union of the upazila.

Being informed, police recovered the body of the man from near his house around 10 am today.

Police and local sources said Khaza Mia, father of five children, was a tea shopper at a local market and resided along with his wife Kamla Begum. But he did not return home from the market last night and his wife found him with cut-throat near their house on Sunday morning.

Officer in Charge (OC) of Char Jabbar Police Station M Kawsar Alam Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.

Police are trying to unearth the reason behind the killing incident, he said.
