KHULNA, Sept 29, 2021 (BSS) – A court here today framed charge against 31 BNP men including BNP city unit president Nazrul Islam Manju in a case.
The charge was framed in Khulna Divisional Special Judge Court under Special Power Act (Section 15-1-kha and 15-3) 1974, public prosecutor advocate Khondokar Mozibor Rahman confirmed it.
On September 18, 2018, Manzu, also former BNP lawmaker in Khulna-2 constituency, along with his partymen planned to carry out subversive activities in a public meeting of the Awami League-led Alliances at city’s Shaheed Hadis Park and to attack their motorcade ahead of 11th parliament election, he said.
On secret information, Police conducted a drive in BNP office and arrested five leaders while Manju and his accomplices managed to flee. Police filed a case against Manju and other partymen with sadar police station in this connection.
Later, Police pressed charge sheet at Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court against 31 BNP men.
Other accused are BNP leaders Zamal Howlader, Azizul Karim, Md Ali, Abul Haque, Zahan Ali, Mujibur Rahman, Habibur Rahman, Helal Sheikh, Miraz Howlader, Ismail Hossain, MA Salam, Kalam Hossain, Alif Hossain and Babul Howlader.
