CHATTOGRAM, July 27, 2024 (BSS)-A total of 847 people have been so far arrested from the port city in 30 sabotage cases filed in different police stations in Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) area and district during last seven days.

CMP Media and Public Relations Department Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kazi Md Tarek Aziz told the journalists that a total of 476 people have been arrested in the port city so far in 19 cases of sabotage filed in different police stations in the CMP in last five days.

The CMP has arrested 27 more people in connection with terrorist activities, murders, riots and sabotage acts in the city in the name of quota reform movement during last 24 hours.

Abu Tayob Md Arif Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police said a total of 371 people have been arrested in the district so far in 11cases of sabotage filed in different police stations in Chattogram district during last seven days.

He said the district police have arrested 17 more people in connection with terrorist activities and sabotage in the district over quota reform movement during last 24 hours.

We are trying to identify the accused people based on CCTV footage and intelligence information, he added.
