CHATTOGRAM, August 20, 2024 (BSS)   Aslam Chowdhury, an advisory council member of BNP has released today from the Chattogram Central Jail after 8 years of imprisonment.

Aslam Chowdhury's lawyer Advocate KM Saiful Islam told the journalists that Aslam Chowdhury released on bail from all the cases filed against him.

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld Aslam Chowdhury's plea to the High Court in the sedition case on Monday.

A six member bench led by Chief Justice Syed Refat Ahmed upheld the high court order and granted bail.  

Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal appeared for the petitioner in the court. Earlier, Aslam Chowdhury was bailed from the High Court in the sedition case.

Police filed a sedition case against Aslam Chowdhury for hatching 'conspiracy to overthrow the government' on May 26, 2016. He was arrested and sent to jail in that case.
