JAMALPUR, August 24, 2024 (BSS)-Former cabinet secretary ASM Abdul Halim today said that the democracy has been restored by the sacrifice of the students and general people.
He said, now time has come to work hard together for the reforms of all sectors which were destroyed during the autocratic rule. We should give utmost priority to maintain the law and order situation in this regard, he said adding that irrespective of all section of people we should come forward.
Abdul Halim, also an advisor of BNP Chairperson Begum Khleda Zia, said a devastating flood has badly affected the people in 11 districts of the south-eastern part of the country. He also urged all the affluent people of the society to come forward to help the flood affected people.
He said these while exchanging views on law and order situation with local people at Islampur Upazila in the district here this afternoon.
Vice President of Jamalpur District BNP Nobi Newaj Khan Lohani Bipul, Vice-Presidents of Upazila BNP Joynal Abedin Sarkar and Md Helal Uddin also spoke, among others, at the meeting.
