RAJSHAHI, Aug 27, 2024 (BSS) - A total of 1,242 people, including students, sustained injuries during the student-people movement in all eight districts under Rajshahi division.
After the incident, they were admitted to nearby hospitals, including Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, and 896 of them were released after first aid. The rest of injured ones have also left hospitals after treatment.
It was told in the meeting of Rajshahi Divisional Development Coordination Committee held at the conference hall of Divisional Commissioner here today.
With Commissioner Dr Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir in the chair, the meeting was attended by divisional heads of all the line departments, including field administration, law enforcing agencies, education, health, local government engineering department and department of public health engineering.
The meeting was told that no case of monkeypox was reported in the country and a monitoring team has been working at Sona Masjid Land Port in this regard.
Commissioner Dr Humayun Kabir said the country's situation is getting normal and complete normalcy will come within the next few days.
Dr Humayun Kabir, also administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation, urged the people to let him know if he or she does not get civic services properly.
He made a fervent appeal for not to be panicked about the flood in the Padma River as 109 gates of Farakka Barrage have already been opened.
He told the meeting that all the rivers in the division are flowing below the danger marks at present and there is no apprehension of flood. He, however, said the government has full preparations to this end.
