SATKHIRA, Aug 28, 2024 (BSS) - A man was killed and seven others were injured
after being hit by a passenger bus on the Satkhira-Khulna highway in front of
the power grid substation under Sadar upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar Mandal, 45, son of late
Upendranath Mandal, resident of Binerpota Dakshinpara village under Sadar
upazila of the district.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Satkhira Sadar Police Station Mohammad Rafiqul
Islam said the accident occurred when a passenger bus hit a locally-made
engine-run vehicle (Nosimon) in the area around 5:30 am while they were going
to Satkhira for fishing, leaving Sunil Kumar dead on the spot and injuring
seven others.

The injured were taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital, the OC said.

Legal action will be taken in this connection, he added added.
