CHAPAINAWABGANJ, June 29, 2021 (BSS)- Four more persons died of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours raising the total number of deaths to 108 in the district.

All the four new fatalities are from Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.

A total of 71 persons of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila, 24 persons of Shibganj upazila, seven persons of Gomostapur upazila, four persons of Nachole upazila and two persons of Bholahat upazila have so far died of COVID-19 in the district.

On the other hand, the number of Covid-19 cases climbed to 4,074 as 66 more people were detected positive after testing 581 samples in the district during the last 24 hours while the infection rate is 11.35 percent, sources in the Civil Surgeon Office in Chapainawabganj confirmed.

Among the newly detected patients, 29 people are from sadar upazila, 20 from Shibganj upazila, 16 from Gomastapur upazila and one from Bholahat upazila.

Of the total detected patients of the district, 2,261 persons are from sadar upazila, 722 from Shibganj upazila, 530 from Gomostapur upazila, 331 from Nachole upazila and 230 from Bholahat upazila.

A total of 1,083 patients in which 74 in dedicated Covid-19 hospital and others at home are undergoing treatment in the district.

Meanwhile, 2,883 patients have recovered from the disease here, the sources added.
