MEHERPUR, Sept 7, 2024 (BSS) – A team of joint forces held two people and seized eight round of bullet and sharp weapons from Gangni Upazila of the district early today.

The detainees were identified as Rajon, 29, and Rakibul Islam, 35.They were involved with Awami League and Jubo League politics.

Lieutenant colonel Nabil Ahmed of Meherpur military camp said on information, they conducted a raid at Char Goalgram village and held Rajon and Rakibul. Based on their statement, they raided a house of one Luvlu and seized eight rounds of bullets. A huge number of sharp weapons were seized during the raid.

A case was filed with Gangni Thana in this connection. Officer-in-Charge of Gangni Thana Monoj Kumar Nandi said Rajon and Rakibul were sent to jail by a court order this noon.
