GAZIPUR, Sept 9, 2024 (BSS) - A readymade garment (RMG) worker was killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway near Mir Ceramic Factory in MC Bazar area under Sreepur upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Akkas Ali, 29, son of Abdus Salam, a resident of Malamari village under Sreebordi upazila of Sherpur district.

The accident occurred in the area when an unidentified vehicle hit him as he was crossing the road around 8:30 am. He died on the spot, sub-inspector (SI) of Mauna Highway Police Station Ismail Hossain said.

Police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem, the SI said.

Police are working to nab the vehicle and its driver, he added.
