SHARIATPUR, Sept 9, 2024 (BSS) - Senior Nayeb-e-Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) Mufti Syed Mohammad Faizul Karim, Shaykh-e-Charmonai today demanded trial of all massacres, disappearances, murders and injustices.

“Since the incumbent Interim Government assumed the office through a popular revolution . . . So this government must ensure the trial of all massacres, disappearances, murders and injustices across the country,” he said.

The IAB leader was speaking as the chief guest at the public meeting organized by IAB’s district unit at Shariatpur Municipality Ground today.

The Shaykh-e-Charmonai demanded trial of the culprits involved in mass killing during the recent student-people mass upsurge and arrest of the corrupt individuals, confiscate illegal assets amazed by them and declare them disqualify in the next general elections.

Since there is a political consensus for the current interim government, there is an enormous scope to bring the country and the country's politics to the right direction, Mufti Faizul Karim added.

The IAB leader said the bloodbath of hundreds of student-people will go in vain, if the interim government does not avail this opportunity timely and undertake necessary reforms for the betterment of the country and its people.

IAB Shariatpur district unit President Mufti Tofail Ahmed Kashemi presided over the meeting conducted by district unit acting Secretary General Mufti Saiful Islam.

IAB Joint-Secretary General Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman, Assistant Secretary General Principal Hafez Maulana Sheikh Fazle Bari Masud, Islamic Lawyers’ Parishad Vice- President Advocate Manik Mia Sardar, Jatiya Teachers’ Forum Organizing Secretary SM Ahsan Habib, IAB District Unit’s Chief Adviser Alhaj Hafez Maulana Shawkat Ali, among others, spoke on the occasion.
