SYLHET, Sept 11, 2024 (BSS)- A motorcyclist was killed and another injured after being hit by a bus on the Sylhet-Dhaka highway in Begumpur Bazar of Sadipur union under Osmani Nagar upazila of the district last night (Tuesday).

The deceased was Biswajit Sutradhar, 27, son of Bikul Sutradhar, a resident of Lama Gavurtiki village of the upazila.

The accident occurred in the area when a Cox's Bazar-bound bus of 'Ena Paribahan' hit the motorcycle around 10 pm last night, leaving two motorcycle riders seriously injured, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Highway Police Station Parimal Chandra Dev said.

The injured were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Biswajit dead.

Police seized both the vehicles from the spot, but the driver of the bus managed to flee away, the OC said

The body will be handed over to the family members after post-mortem, the OC added.
