BHOLA, Sept 11, 2024 (BSS) - Nine shops were gutted in a fire at Kunj Hat Bazar in Borhanuddin upazila of the district in the early hours of today.

The fire originated from an electric short circuit at a coating shop of the Kunj Hat Bazar around 12:45am and soon engulfed the adjacent business establishments. As a result, nine shops were gutted, Deputy Assistant Director of Bhola Fire Service and Civil Defense Md. Liton Ahmed said.

Being informed, four firefighters unit of Sadar, Lalmohan, Tajumuddin and Borhanuddin upazilas rushed to the spot and doused the blaze with the help of locals and affected businessmen after two and half hours of efforts, he said.

The extent of the damage could not be known immediately, he added.
