KURIGRAM, Sept 12, 2024 (BSS) - The bodies of three children, who went missing while taking bath in the Brahmaputra river yesterday (Wednesday) in Nageshwari upazila of the district, were recovered from the river today.

The deceased were Atik Hasan, son of Ahad Ali, Jewel, son of Alam Mia and Nazmul Islam, son of Nazrul Islam. All of them aged between 7-10 years. All are residents of Astashir Char village of Narayanpur union of the upazila.

Akhi, daughter of Ahad Ali, remains missing till the filling of this report.

Divers from local firefighting units recovered the bodies from different areas of the river, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kachakata Police Station Biswajit Roy said.

Later, police handed over the bodies to their respective family members, the OC added.
