Eid-e-Miladunnabi observed in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Sept 16, 2024 (BSS) - The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), was observed here as elsewhere of the country with due religious fervor and solemnity today.

In observance of the day, Anjumane Ashrafia Charitable Trust and Sheroil Colony Boro Mosque brought out a religious rally from the mosque premises in the morning.

After parading main thoroughfares of the city, the rally ended at Hazrat Shah Makhdum Dargah followed by offering special prayers for peace of the country and the Muslim umma.
 
Besides, the traditional colourful rally 'Jasne Julush' under the auspices of Gausul Azam Gausia, Talime Quran Tamauafi, EskeNabi was brought out from the city's Saheb Bazar area around 8:30am on the occasion.

The rally ended at Shah Makhdum Dargah Mosque after parading the main city thoroughfares.
 
After the rally, a special prayer was offered seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
 
Special prayers, Zikir, Doa and Milad Mahfil, discussion, providing food to orphans and destitute and processions to welcome the holy Miladunnabi were the main features of the day.
 
The divisional office of the Islamic Foundation and Imam Training Academy jointly organized a discussion highlighting the significance of the day.
 
Shishu Academy also organized a hamd-naat competition for the children. Various educational institutions organized discussion meetings and doa mahfil marking the day.

Law enforcing agencies adopted tight security measures to make sure the day's programmes were successful.
 
Several bamboo-made temporary gates wrapped by long rags with affixing colorful festoons and banners were erected at important road corners and city islands on the occasion.
