CHATTOGRAM, Sept 22, 2024 (BSS) - One person died and a total of 72 people have been infected with dengue in Chattogram city and district during the last 24 hours.

The 32-year-old youth Abul Hossain died of dengue while undergoing treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital after fighting for his life for the last seven days.

Among the 72 people infected with dengue in 24 hours, 47 people have been admitted to the city's government hospital and 25 people have been admitted to various private hospitals in the city.

According to the Chattogram Civil Surgeon office, a total of 553 people were admitted to the hospital in port city due to dengue in the month of September.

At least 112 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in the city.  A total of 16 people died this year. Among them, eight people died in September this year.

District Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam advised city dwellers to be aware about the spread of dengue.
