Four business establishments fined Tk 14,000 in Pirojpur

PIROJPUR, Sept 23, 2024 (BSS) - A team of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP), in a drive here, today realized Taka
14,000 as fine from four business establishments’ owners due to various irregularities in Miarhat Bazar under Nesarabad upazila of the district today.

Sources concerned said, the DNCRP team led by assistant director in Pirojpur, Debashish Roy, conducted the drive at Mithali Traders and Akon Traders fined Taka 3,500 each for selling expired seeds, at Bhai Bhai poultry fined Taka 3,500 for selling chicken at higher prices and Babul Brothers fined Taka 3,500 for Selling expired cosmetics in the area of the upazila.

The business establishments were fined Taka 14,000 for violating the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.

Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted in the operation team.

Debashish Roy said, in the last 15 days, a fine of Taka 69,000 has been realized for various irregularities from 26 business establishments of the district.

The DNCPR drive would continue in the district, assistant director of DNCRP Debashish Roy said.
