BANDARBAN, Sept 27, 2024 (BSS) - The World Tourism Day-2024 was observed today in the district like elsewhere in the world.
This year's theme of the day is "Tourism and Peace".

Marking the day, different government and non-government organisations chalked out various programmes.

A colorful rally was brought out from the premises of the deputy commissioner's office that paraded the main streets and ended at the same venue.

After the rally, a discussion was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shah Mojahid Uddin in the chair.

While speaking at the discussion, the DC said, "We have already built numerous facilities for tourists at various spots to make those attractive for tourists''.

Additional Deputy Commissioner SM Monjurul Alam, Assistant Superintendent of Police Junaid Zahedi, Senior Assistant Engineer of Hill District Parishad Lelin Chakma, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tourist Police Bandarban Zone Md. Jahangir Alam, Unit Manager of Tourism Motel Mohammad Soeb, tourism operators of the district, representatives of civil society and students of various schools, among others, were present.
