JAMALPUR, Sept 27, 2024 (BSS) - World Tourism Day-2024 was observed in the district today with the slogan "Tourism and Peace" .

Marking the day, the district administration from Dewanpara area brought out a procession led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Saiful Islam this morning.

The rally after parading the main roads ended on the office premises of deputy commissioner.

The rally was followed by a discussion meeting at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner with Additional Deputy Commissioner in the chair.

Speakers at the meeting said Bangladesh has enormous potentiality in tourism sector for drawing attention to the local and international tourists. They said proper planning in the sector can earn huge foreign currency.

Additional District Magistrate Iftekhar Yunus, Senior Assistant Commissioner Jahangir Alam, BSS district Correspondent Md Mukhlesur Rahman, journalists Eusuf Ali and Jahangir Selim, among others, spoke at the meeting.
