JOYPURHAT, Sept 27, 2024 (BSS) - The World Tourism Day-2024 was observed in the district today across the country like elsewhere in the world.
 
This year's theme of the day is "Tourism and Peace".  

Marking the day, government and different organisations have chalked out various programmes to celebrate the day.

On the occasion, a colorful rally was brought out from in front of the deputy commissioner’s office which paraded the important streets and ended in the conference room of the deputy commissioner’s office this morning.

Officials of various government and private departments, students of various schools, among others, also participated in the rally.

After the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office with Deputy Commissioner (Acting) Mohiuddin Jahangir in the chair.

General Secretary of Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Matsyajeebi Dal district unit Minhajul Islam Manik, Trainer of District Youth Development Department Masudur Rahman, Joypurhat Collectorate Girls Bidyaniketan Head Teacher Mahbub Ul Alam, Matinur Rahman Matin executive director of non-government organization of 'Eso', among others, also spoke.
