CHATTOGRAM, Sept 27, 2024 (BSS) - Two people died after being crushed by a truck in Sonaichari Pakka Masjid KDS Logistics area on the Chattogram-Dhaka Highway on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as C&F officer Md Jasim Uddin, 38, hailed from Khulna district and KDS security guard Mizanur Rahman, 60, hailed from the city's Halishahor area.

Witnesses said a Chattogram-bound truck ran over the victims while they were crossing the road in the aforesaid area at around 9 pm on Thursday. Md Jasim Uddin died on the spot.

Locals rescued Mizanur Rahman and took him to Sitakunda Health Complex where the attending doctors declared him dead.

Khokon Chandra Ghosh, officer-in-charge of Bar Aulia Police Station, confirmed the matter.

A case filed with Sitakunda police station in this connection.
