RAJSHAHI, Oct 1, 2024 (BSS) - A total of 31 retired and expired officers and employees of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) were given Taka 1.75 crore as gratuity here today.

RCC Administrator and Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir distributed bank cheques among the recipients at the city bhaban conference hall as chief guest.

RCC Chief Executive Officer Dr ABM Sharif Uddin, Secretary Mobarak Hossain, Chief Conservatory Officer Sheikh Muhammad Mamun and Chief Health Officer Dr AFM Anjuman Ara Begum, among others, were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Humayun Kabir expected that the gratuity money will benefit the recipient families in terms of mitigating their constraints. 

He also said the retired staff contributed a lot towards providing services to the citizens through their works. The experienced staff will be engaged in the city's service-delivery activities.

Talking to BSS, the administrator said this is the partial payment and within this month they will get Taka 3.55 crore more for their full-payment.
