NETRAKONA, Oct 3, 2024 (BSS) - Police in a drive arrested Khaliajury upazila unit general secretary of Awami league (AL) Sadequr Rahman Chowdhury from his Buali village home of the district last night.

Police sources said he was wanted in two cases of attacking local BNP workers and leaders and vandalizing and torching the Khaliajury BNP office.

Sadequr Rahman went into hiding after the falling of the fascist and autocratic government of Sheikh Hasina, the source said.

"Police produced Sadek before the senior judicial magistrate court (five) here today with a prayer for placing him on a five-day remand for interrogation. The learned magistrate fixed the date of hearing on the remand prayer on Sunday and sent him to jail hajat," officer-in-charge (OC) of Khaliajury police station Mohammad Makbul Hussain told BSS.
