'Women empowering crucial to build youth-driven accountable Bangladesh'

RANGPUR, Oct 10, 2024 (BSS) - There is no alternative to raising social awareness for women empowerment with the commitment to build a youth-driven prosperous, discrimination-free and accountable Bangladesh.

This observation came at a women rally organized by the District Information Office (DIO) at Nelokchondi village near Burirhat Farm in Gangachara upazila of the district on Wednesday.

Director of Rangpur District Information Office Mofkekharul Iqbal attended the event as the chief guest with its Assistant Director Md Alamgir Kabir in the chair.

Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs for Rangpur Most Selorara Begum addressed the rally as the special guest.

Moderated by Assistant Director of Rangpur District Information Office Tanya Taznin Memi, 100 female students, working women, housewives and female entrepreneurs participated in the event.

In his welcome speech, Alamgir Kabir said that the nation is going to build an equity-based society free from all forms of discrimination and exploitation to ensure equal rights of all citizens.

"To attain this goal, both men and women should equally come forward," he said, adding that there should not be any discrimination to the womenfolk in establishing a youth-driven prosperous, non-discriminatory and accountable Bangladesh.

The chief guest said, "We are going to build a developed, modern and prosperous Bangladesh free from all forms of exploitation, corruption and discrimination."

"Therefore, to achieve the cherished goal of building a modern and developed Bangladesh with equal rights for women, people from all walks of life, including youth and women, must come forward and participate in nation-building activities unitedly."
