PABNA, Oct 11, 2024 (BSS) - Kumari Puja, an essential event of Durga Puja on the occasion of Mohashtomi, concluded at Ramakrishna Sevashram in the district today.

The Puja took place from 2.30pm. For the second time in the mission, a six-year-old Shreya Talapatra was chosen this year to be the virgin goddess. Her shastriya name is Uma.

Before the puja, the virgin is bathed and dressed in a new red sari, jewelry, anklets, flower garlands and ornaments.
 
After sitting on the seat of Goddess Puja with lotus flowers, the worshipers' offered prayer her with chants and praises and huge crowd thronged to witness the puja.

Ramakrishna Sevashram President Asit Kumar Saha, Vice President Uttam Kundu, Puja Celebration Parishad Joint General Secretary Achint Kumar Ghosh, Joint Publicity Secretary Alak Pal and other committee members were present during the puja.

This year's Durga Puja will end with the immersion of goddess Durga on Sunday.
