MANIKGANJ, Oct 13, 2024 (BSS) – District administration today observed the “International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction-2024” in a befitting manner.

The theme of this year’s day is “The role of education in protecting and empowering youth for a disaster-free future”.

Marking the day, a colourful procession was brought out in the town from the Collectorate premises. The procession dispersed at the same venue after parading different streets in the district town.

The Members of Fire Service displayed different tactics of fire control.
Later, a discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner (DC)'s office to mark the day. Deputy Commissioner Dr.

Manwar Hossein Malla chaired the function.

Among others, Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. Bashir Ahmed, ADC (Gen) Md. Toriqul Islam, ADM Mohammad Ali and Press Club Convenor Jahangir Alam Biswas took part in the discussion.
