RAJSHAHI, Oct 17, 2024 (BSS) - Speakers at a meeting here today opined that community and social support could be the best way of transforming children into worthy citizens of the country through proper physical and mental grooming.
In this connection, they said that integrated efforts of all the government and non-government organizations concerned could also play a vital role to protect the (children) from physical abuses, exploitation and violence.
They came up with the observations while exchanging views at a project-inception meeting at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) here.
On behalf of its project titled "Children Know Better-Making Child Participation the Key to Improving Effectiveness of Action against Sexual Exploitation of Children", an Association for Community Development (ACD) organized the meeting supported by ECPAT International.
The project being implemented in Rajshahi city and Godagari and Mohanpur upazilas aimed at creating a congenial atmosphere for the children through preventing them from all sorts of repression and oppression.
DC-in-Charge Sarker Asim Kumar, ADC Tuktuk Talukder, Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development Golam Mahbub, Deputy Director of Department of Social Services Hasina Montaj and ACD Director Subrina Shar addressed the meeting.
Muhammad Ali Ahmed, Coordinator of the project, gave an overview of their project along with its aims, objectives and implementation strategy.
