SAVAR, Oct 18, 2028 (BSS) - Two labours died after inhaling toxic gas inside a septic tank at an under-construction house in the Shaympur Maitka area here this morning.

The deceased were identified as Anisul Haque, 40, who hailed from Rangpur district and Sadikul Islam, 30, an inhabitant in Bhola district.

Fire Service sources said Anisul and Sadikul were working at the under-construction building owned by one Lal Mia at Shaympur Maitka. While they were working, Anisul first went inside the tank and fell ill, inhaling toxic gas. Getting no response from him, Sadikul also went into the tank and also fell ill.

On receiving information, firefighters rushed to the spot and recovered them in an unconscious state.

They were taken to Savar Upazila Health Complex where, on duty doctor declared them dead, said Farhaduzzaman, station officer of Savar Tannery Fire Service.
