DHAMRAI, Oct 18, 2024 (BSS) – A driver died from a cylinder explosion while filling CNG gas in a microbus at Dhamrai upazila in Dhamrai area of the capital on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Faruk Hossain, 50, hailed from Dhaira village in Dhamrai Upazila.

Police said the incident took place at around 11.30 AM at NN CNG Filling Station at Dhulivita of the upazila along the Dhaka-Aricha highway. Driver Faruk Hossain died on the spot. A private car was also damaged in the explosion.

Officer-in-Charge of Dhamrai Thana Monirul Islam confirmed the incident. The body was handed over to the family members for burial, he added.
