CHATTOGRAM, Oct 27, 2024 (BSS)- A mobile court in a overnight drive seized current net of 2500 meters length and a boat from Halda river today.

Executive Magistrate and Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) A B M Moshiuzaman in cooperation with police and fishery department officials conducted the drive in Madarsha area.

The Halda River, only natural breeding ground of carp fishes in Bangladesh, is now under a ban on fishing.

Hathazari UNO said drive against illegal fishing would continue to protect the gravid fishes, dolphins and biodiversity of the river.

The mobile court seized the net when it was placed in the river water with floating bamboo.
