RAJSHAHI, Oct 29, 2024 (BSS) - A total of 60 rounds of rubber bullets were
recovered in an abandoned condition from a mango orchard at Sayergachha area
of the city this afternoon.
Sabina Yeasmin, additional deputy commissioner (Media) at Rajshahi
Metropolitan Police (RMP), said a police patrol party of Kasiadanga Police
Station found a suspicious bag in the area.
"They recovered the bag containing 60 rubber bullets around 2.30 pm," she
said, adding that the bullets were looted from Kasiadanga Police Station on
August 5 last.
Yeasmin said the miscreants looted 164 firearms from different police
stations, outposts and boxes of RMP during the anti-discrimination student
movement.
So far, 146 of those were recovered, she added.
RMP Commissioner Muhammad Abu Sufian urged the city dwellers to extend their
cooperation for recovering the rest of the firearms.
He said the RMP and joint forces will continue drives to recover the rest of
the firearms.
