NETRAKONA, Nov 2, 2024 (BSS) - The 53rd National Cooperative Day-2024 was observed in the district today with a call to building up the country as a discrimination-free state.
On the occasion, Netrakona district administration and district cooperative department jointly chalked out different programmes.
As part of the programmes, a colorful rally was brought out in the district town from Netrakona DC office premises which ended on
the same place after parading main roads of the town.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Netrakona Bonai Biswas led the rally.
A discussion was also held.
The DC addressed the meeting as the chief guest with district cooperative officer Sumon Chandra Paul in the chair.
It was addressed, among others, by additional deputy commissioner (general) Mohammad Rafiquzzaman and upazila Nirbahi officer of Netrakona sader upazila Tania Tabassum.
The chief guest said the cooperative movement can play an important role for strengthening national economy and alleviating poverty.
In this context, she underlined the need for promoting the cooperative activities everywhere in the society for materializing the spirit of anti-discrimination student-mass uprising and improving living condition of the unprivileged people of the country.
