NOAKHALI, Nov 05, 2024 (BSS) – A teenage girl was killed in a thunderbolt strike in Hatiya island of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Sumi Akhter, 15, hailed from Mukhtijoddha Bazar area in the Upazila.

Locals said the incident occurred this noon when Sumi was cutting branches of trees. She died on the spot, acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Milton Chakma confirmed.
