RAJSHAHI, Nov 07, 2024 (BSS) – The National Revolution and Solidarity Day was observed today in the district in a befitting manner through organizing various programmes.
Marking the day, local unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its associated bodies organised the programmes at Shaheb Bazar Zero point of the district town.
The day’s programme began with hoisting of national and party flags in front of their party office at Malopara in the city in the morning.
Adviser to the BNP Chairperson Mijanur Rahman Minu, BNP City unit Convener Advocate Ershad Ali, Member Secretary Mamun-Or-Rashid and former city unit President of Juba Dal Abul Kalam Azad, among others, were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mijanur Rahman Minu urged the interim government for arranging national elections as early as possible after state reform for the cause of ensuring democratic polity.
He stressed on creating scopes to facilitate return of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman home so that he could do politics in the country freely.
In this connection, he said that the BNP Acting Chairperson played a vital role during the anti-discriminatory student’s movement against the then autocratic regime.
