GAIBANDHA, Nov 07, 2024 (BNP) -The National Revolution and Solidarity Day-2024 was observed in the district today with a renewed call to get united with the spirit of the day to ensure desired development of the country.

Marking the day, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), district units, and its associate and front organizations chalked out elaborate programmes.
 
In the morning, a grand procession was brought out from the Shaheed Minar of the town which ended in front of DC office parading main roads of the town.

Later, a discussion on the significance of the day was held in front of the DC office with BNP District Unit President Dr. Mainul Hasan Sadik in the chair.

Village Affairs Secretary of central BNP Anisuzzaman Khan Babu, Executive Member Professor Aminul Islam Golap, and General Secretary of District Unit BNP Mahadunnabi Titul addressed the meeting, among others.

The speakers said on November 3 in 1975, the evil forces imprisoned President Ziaur Rahman, who declared the country’s independence. On November 7, fearless soldiers and people took to the streets to protect the freedom of the nation and later Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was freed, they added.

They urged all to work together, being imbued with the spirit of patriotism and ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

 They also demanded justice for the autocratic Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Earlier, the leaders, workers, supporters of BNP paid tribute to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman by placing floral wreaths at his portrait.
