CHUADANGA, Nov 13, 2024 (BSS) - A joint team of the District Taskforce Committee and Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in separate drives today realized Taka 250,000 as fine from the owners of two business establishments for various irregularities at Alokdia Bazar in Sadar upazila and Bhalaipur Bazar in Alamdanga upazila of the district.
The team led by assistant director of Chuadanga Consumer Rights Protection Department Sajal Ahmed, conducted a drive at M/S Biswas Traders in Alukdia Bazar of Sadar upazila and fined Taka 2,00000 for selling fertilizer at higher prices than the government fixed prices and various irregularities this afternoon.
Beside, the team conducted a drive at M/S Disha Agro Trading in Bhalaipur Bazar of Alamdanga upazila and fined Taka 50,000 for selling fertilizer at higher prices than the government fixed prices and various irregularities this afternoon.
Agricultural Marketing Officer Rasheduzzaman, Additional Agricultural Officer of Sadar Upazila Anisur Rahman, Consumers Association of Bangladesh CAB representatives, student representatives, and a team of army personnel assisted in the operation team.
The drive would continue in the district, assistant director of DNCRP) Sajal Ahmed said.
