LAKSHMIPUR, Nov 15, 2024 (BSS) - A minor boy was killed after being hit by a bus on the Lakshmipur-Dhaka highway road in the Joksin Bazar area under Sadar upazila of the district this afternoon.

The deceased is Ahnaf Hossain, 7, son of Shafiqul Alam, resident of Jadaiya area at Sadar upazila of the district.

The accident occurred when a bus of Jonaki Paribahan coming from Lakshmipur hit him while he was crossing road in the area, leaving him dead on the spot around 2:30 pm, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Chandraganj Highway Police Station Md. Nur Mohammad said.

Police recovered the body and handed over it to the family members, SI said.

Police seized the bus, but its driver and helper managed to flee from the scene.

Legal action is under process, the SI added.
