NOAKHALI, Nov 16, 2024 (BSS) - Two people were killed in separate road
accidents in Begumganj upazila of the district today.

The deceased were Nurjahan Begum, 45, hailed from Chowmuhani municipality
area and Ayrin, daughter of Babul, a resident of Krishnarampur village in
Begumganj upazila.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Krishna Kumar Das of Begumganj Thana said Nurjahan Begum
died as a truck hit her when she crossing a road in rail gate area under
Chowmuhani this afternoon.

After the accident, she was taken to Begumganj Upazila Health Complex where
the duty doctors declared Nurjahan's dead.

Besides, Ayrin received serious injuries when a bus hit a CNG-run auto-
rickshaw in front of Kalikapur High School this noon.

She was rushed to Noakhali Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctors declared her
dead.

Her sister was also injured in the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of
Charganj Highway Thana Ruhul Amin confirmed.
